That is not really the problem, it’s hearing なう as a verb incorrectly. I have not used it enough so I don’t expect it. It’s just something I have to practice.
Oh, yes. I would be confused by hearing 食べたくなったら, I have to remember that one. It makes me think “when I don’t want to eat”. But that would be 食べたくなかったら?
Well, I’m odd I suppose. I have been using Japanese incorrectly for a long time. I wanted to say “I need to go”, but I know that 行って要ります is not grammatically correct now. It should be （団子を買いたいから、）MAIDOに行かなきゃいけない。
