先月は梅雨の話をしましたが、7月になってもまだ梅雨はあけていません。今年の梅雨あけは8月になるかもしれないとも言われています。
最近は本当にたくさん雨が降っています。ほとんど毎日雨が降っているように思います。九州では大きな洪水があってたくさんの被害が出ました。天気がおかしくなることが本当に怖いですね。
I talked about the rainy season last month, but it hasn’t ended yet although it’s the end of July. Some people say that the rainy season might continue until August. It has been raining almost every day, and there was a big flood in the Kyushu area. The weather has been really unpredictable and scary.

7月の祝日というと通常は「海の日」だけですが、今年は10月の祝日の「スポーツの日」が7月に移動しましたから、4連休になりました。どうして祝日が移動したかと言うと、東京オリンピックの予定があったからです。本来なら、7月24日に開会式を行う予定でした。
Normally, there is only one holiday in July, called Sea Day. But this year, a holiday normally in October, called Sports Day, was moved to July because of the Olympics. Originally, the opening ceremonies were scheduled to be held on July 24th.

新型コロナウイルスの流行のために、東京オリンピックは来年に延期されましたけど、来年はどうなっているでしょうか。オリンピックが延期されましたから、来年の祝日も移動するようです。10月の「スポーツの日」は7月に移動するようです。
However, due to the pandemic, the Tokyo Olympics was postponed to next year. Therefore, the government has discussed moving the holiday again next year.

オリンピックという大会はすごいですね。国の祝日が移動してしまうんですから。何の心配もしないでオリンピックを楽しめる日が来るといいですね。
I am impressed by the Olympics. It has the power to move national holidays around. I hope someday we can enjoy the Olympics without worry again.
