春になるとたくさんピンク色のおもちゃやお菓子が店にでてきます。そのなかでも有名なのは桜餅です。桜餅はピンク色のもち米の中に餡子が入っていて、塩で漬けた桜の葉っぱを巻いた食べ物です。
When spring arrives, lots of pink-colored toys and sweets appear in shops. One of the most famous ones among them is sakura mochi. Sakura mochi is a snack made of a pink colored rice ball filled with anko and wrapped in a salt-pickled cherry blossom tree’s leaf.

甘くて、少し塩味があって。葉っぱと一緒に食べられるのでとてもおいしいです。
They are sweet, and a little bit salty. If you eat them with the leaf they are very good.

今年は3月に入っても寒い日が多かったですが、最近は暖かくなってきましたので、桜の木にも蕾が出てきました。コンビニやスーパーに行くと桜餅だけでなくたくさんの春のおやつが売られていますから見るのも楽しいですね。
This year saw a lot of cold weather during March, but recently it has warmed up, so the cherry blossom trees are beginning to bud. When you visit convenience stores or supermarkets you can enjoy seeing lots of spring-themed snacks for sale besides just sakura mochi.
