I’m glad to hear you had a Christmas off this year 🙂 How is NJ weather now? We are expecting to get snow tomorrow. It’s getting cold here!

I don’t mind getting your post during the vacation 🙂 It might take time to reply, but I will check this site.

    Happy holidays to you too!

PS: Papa Chicken is happy to hear that 😛

Adjective+する means make it _____. It conjugates like “adjective + なる” in chapter 10 (p.234). 安くする means make it cheaper. ~たらどうですか goes after the same ending as in the past tense short form, so 安くした+らどうですか is correct.

    That was close Jim-san.

    The last one is wrong.

    3.
    たけし: 今日は佐藤さんの誕生日ですから、皆からお金を集めて佐藤さんがほしいものを買おうと思います。田中さんと吉田さんからはもうお金を(C. もらった)ので、まだお金を払っていない人は500円ずつ払ってください。

    田中: えー、500円(A. も)払うんですか。ちょっと高いですね。もう少し(B. 安くし)たらどうですか。

    Translation:
Takeshi: It’s Satou’s birthday, so I’m thinking to gather money from everyone to buy something he wants. I already received money from Tanaka and Yoshida, so if you haven’t payed yet please give me 500 yen each.

Tanaka*: What? We have to pay 500 yen? That’s a bit expensive. Why don’t you make it a bit cheaper?

*Tanaka is complaining about how expensive it is, so he suggests making it cheaper. There are two different Tanakas in the sentences, so it was confusing. I should have changed the names. I’m sorry about that.

It’s too bad that you couldn’t take pictures. A lot of places are like that. I like seeing inside of old temples 🙂

    Jim-san

That was so close Jim san!

    1. B;C;C
    →B;A;A
きません is already polite, so adding です is wrong. The best answer here are まだ. まだ is a useful word. You can say, まだです, まだなんです, まだだとおもう and so on.

    2. C;E;B;F;D;A
    →All correct!

    Yes 🙂

Byodo-in temple is a very beautiful one. It’s not close to other famous temples, so you need to take a bus to get there, but it is worth visiting it. If you can see inside too, that would be very nice. I like the inside decorations.
