KeymasterGreat job Jim-san!
The questions were very difficult, but you did a good job. Here are the answers.
1.を :1.特急サンダーバード2号は9時20分に富山(を)出発します。
→ This is a starting point. The train leaves from Toyama. (refer to joshi graphic 2-2)2.を
3.に
4.で
5.に6.で :このバスは今、新宿の中(を)走っています。
→ This is a passing point. The bus is passing Shinjyuku. (refer to jyoshi graphic 2-3)7.で、で
→ These two sentences have the same meaning, so the same particle can be used.8.に
9.で、で :私は学校前(で)バスを降りて、コンビニ(で)買い物をします。
→ This is a place of action. I got off the bus at the school. (refer to Joshi 1 from 助詞の問題 thread.)10.に : 私は観光ホテル(に)泊まっています。
→ This one is a good mistake. 泊まる sounds like an action, but actually, 泊まる is considered as an existence. (refer to joshi 4 from 助詞の問題 thread.) In the same manner, 勤める and 住む use particle に for the same reason.11.を
12.で : 観光ホテルの前(で)写真を撮りましょう。

Keymasteroh I see. In that case, you can say, “数日しか日本に滞在しませんでした。町を探検したり仏像を見たりすることに興味があったので、温泉に行くことは考えてすらいなかったです。”
Have you learned すら? it means “even.” you can replace すら with も.

KeymasterYou don’t like going to onsen? I don’t like the public baths, so I usually use the private onsen bath. Most onsen have cute bathing rooms for private use only. There is a time limit and charge, but it’s worth it 🙂 It’s like 45 minutes for 2000 yen-ish.
If you wanted to say that onsen aren’t in my top 5 destinations, you can say, “温泉は私が行きたい場所トップ5に入っていません”

KeymasterGood job Jim-san!
only #3 is wrong.
3. あそこ( )あるのはなんですか?
the answer should be に. ある and いる are place of existence (jpeg #3), so に is the correct answer.
#7 is tricky because it has ある after the ( ), so many students think it should be に, but the sentence is asking about the event. You can tell that from the line “運動会ですか?”
#9 means, “It is fun to go to a aquarium.”
Good job!
I will post more questions later 🙂

KeymasterClose! You got #1 and #4 wrong. Joshi are very difficult! It can take a long time to master them.
I’m attaching a few jpegs to help explain the problems you got wrong. Let me know if you have any questions. If you want to review the grammar explanations, they are in Genki 1.
#1) this is an action taking place (jpeg 1), so we want to use で
#4) this is an occurrence (jpeg 2), so this is also で
