１１月ですね。日本では祝日が２日（３日と２３日）ありますし、紅葉がきれいですし、天気も良いですから私は１１月が好きです。
日本では感謝祭のイベントをしないので、１１月には大きなイベントはありません。
アメリカでは感謝祭はとても大きなイベントなので、日本にいると少し寂しいです。

It’s November. I like November because there are two holidays in this month, the red leaves are beautiful in this season, and the weather is generally nice.
Unlike in America, in Japan there are not many special events in November, so I felt a little empty this year.

I bet people who celebrate Thanksgiving are busy in November.

Q1：感謝祭はいつやりますか？

感謝祭はアメリカでは１１月の第４木曜日（だいよんもくようび）にやります。
カナダでは１０月の第二月曜日（だいにげつようび）にやります。

Q1: When do you celebrate Thanksgiving?
In the US, people celebrate it on the fourth Thursday in November. In Canada, people celebrate it on the second Monday in October.

Q2：どうして感謝祭をやりますか？

１６２０年に、イギリスから来た開拓者（かいたくしゃ）が冬（ふゆ）を越（こ）す事がむずかしかったときに、先住民（せんじゅうみん）のインディアンが助けてくれました。そのお礼にインディアンを招待して食事会を行ったのが感謝祭のはじまりです。

Q2: Why do you celebrate it?
In 1620, When pilgrims had a hard time during the winter, Native Americans came and helped them survive. The Pilgrims were thankful for their kindness, so they invited the Native Americans to a feast and had a party together. That’s the traditional origin story of Thanksgiving.

Q3：感謝祭で何をしますか？

家族が集まって、感謝祭の料理を食べます。感謝祭の料理は七面鳥（しちめんちょう）やスタッフィング、マッシュポテトなどです。

Q3: What do people do on Thanksgiving Day?
Family members gather together and have traditional food such as turkey, stuffing, and mashed potatos.
