KeymasterOh, it’s B then. That makes more sense.
→ Correct!I thought that よう needed a に。
→ Oh! That’s right, but if it’s followed by 気を付ける, you can omit に. You didn’t know that, so it wasn’t a fair question. Sorry. It’s hard to stop yourself from getting a cold except to take care of yourself!
→ Yes. That’s why 田中さん started jogginging every morning. 🙂Hitomi Meyer
KeymasterII: A → Ahh A is close. I think My hint was bad. It should be the te-form of なる.
III: A → “I’ve been careful to not catch a cold” should be 風邪をひかないよう気を付ける
I thought it could mean “if you take care of yourself you won’t catch a cold”
→ The whole sentence means, “The reason I started (jogging) is because I got sick last year. Since then, I have been careful not to catch a cold no matter how cold it gets.”
去年病気になったことがきっかけです。どんなに寒( II )風邪をひかない( III )気を付けているんです。Hitomi Meyer

KeymasterOnly II and III are wrong desuyo.
II: it has to be te-form of 寒い
III: It meant “I’ve been careful to not catch a cold”

Keymaster「になる」goes with a noun or an adjective, but 「すぎる」is a verb. If you want to use 「すぎる」in that sentence, you can say, 「暑くなり過ぎました」. In that case, it’s good to add more information to compare normal 暑い with 暑くなりすぎる. For example, “今日は少し暑そうだけどいい天気になるから外出しようかと思っていましたが、午後から暑くなりすぎてしまったので外出はしませんでした。”
and yes. に is also worng ですね.
